The Christmas countdown is on! I’m so excited to be spending Christmas with my new *fiance* our little fur baby and my family this year. Hope you are planning to enjoy the holidays with family and friends as well. Today I’m sharing what’s on my list this year. Hopefully this will spark some ideas for your loved ones as well!

 

  1. All Saints Wool Blanket Scarf: This scarf looks so incredibly cozy, perfect for when we spend time back East in the snow.
  2. Gucci Small Padlock Bag: I’ve been eyeing this bag for months and I would be so thankful if it was under the tree.
  3.  Artis Brush Set: I’ve been dying to try these makeup brushes. I’ve heard such great things!
  4.  Bella Pressure Cooker: Because let’s face it, we don’t usually have time to cook dinner so I’ve been eyeing a pressure cooker to whip up some quick meals. Send any recipes my way!
  5.  Nike Air Max 270 Sneaker: Comes in multiple colors. Always in need of new sneaks.
  6.  Red Wine Glass: We have these and absolutely love them! I would love a full set for when we have guests, as we only have 4 at the moment.
  7.  Fresh Face Mask Set: LOVE these masks and go through them regularly. Nothing beats a Sunday night face mask session.
  8.  Spanx Faux Leather Moto Leggings: I have the regular Spanx leggings and adore them. How fun are these in faux leather?
  9.  Dyson and Ouai Set: Dying for this Dyson Hair Dryer. My stylist uses it at the salon and makes my hair so sleek and smooth.
  10.  Le Labo Santal 33 Perfume: I had a sample of this perfume and went through it so quickly. I think this may be my new scent!
  11.  Longchamp Large Tote: I love these bags for traveling and have been eyeing the large version for some trips I have coming up.
  12.  Jade Roller: No more puffy face over here! Really interested to try this jade roller.
  13.  CALPAK Luggage Set: Always in need of new luggage. I have the carry on version of this in black and love it. It’s almost time for full size.
  14.  Simplehuman Makeup Mirror: I’ve heard these are great mirrors. I’ve been doing my makeup on the bedroom floor, but need to figure out my setup still!
  15.  Brim Espresso Maker: Would love if this was under our tree. Love some yummy espresso and this machine will do the trick.

Can you guys believe Christmas is two weeks away?! Not sure how it came so fast. I dont know about you, but I’m still Christmas shopping. I’ve checked a few things off my list, but there’s always some last minute buys happening in our house. Today I’m sharing a GIFT GUIDE FOR HER: UNDER $100.

  8. Oribe Styling Essentials Set: The best styling products! This set is a must. I may have also snagged for myself.
  9. Baublebar Teardrop Earrings: Such pretty earrings, also love this monogram pendant necklace.
  10. Gold Decanter Set: Great set for the entertainer or hostess. I love the gold touch.
  11. Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Perfume: One of my favorite perfumes, Jo Malone has a lot of great sets as well.
  12. Leopard Scarf: Hello best priced scarf there is! I have this and wear it often.
  13. BeautyBio Bright Eyes Set: Such a cute gift for co-worker and friends! Because we all need a little help sometimes.
  14. Voluspa Candle Set: Voluspa is my favorite candle brand and this is such a great set! Candles are my favorite gift to receive.
  15. SlipSilk Pillowcase: I can’t rave about this pillowcase enough. It has changed the texture of my hair and I’ll never go back to a regular cotton pillowcase.
  16. Throw Blanket: Another great gift for everyone on your list. Especially to cuddle up with Christmas morning!

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: FOR THE MEN IN YOUR LIFE

I’m kicking off my series of 2018 HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES today with everything you need to gift the men in your life! Men are the hardest to shop for, dont you think?! With that said, Jeff helped me round up this post with his favorite things and gifts he’s been eyeing.

 

I’m snagging a few of these items for him, my Dad and brother. Is it just my family or do the men in your life never buy anything for themselves? Jeff likes to get everyday basics as gifts because he never shops and waits till Christmas to tell me what he really needs. So, here is the list!

 

  1. Flannel pajama set: Nothing says the holidays like flannel jammies! We love to get my Dad cozy jammies for xmas and this is such a cute gift set. Hot tip: Jcrew is one of my go-to retailers for Men’s gifts. They have a great gift section, lots of discounts and the men in my family love the style.
  2. Patagonia Fleece: I can’t think of any guy that wouldn’t like this fleece. Also, this puffer jacket will make a great gift for any guy as well.
  3. Kiehls Essentials gift set: They may not like to admit it, but men need skincare too! Sometimes you just have to force them to use it. Both Jeff and my Dad have been caught using my skincare, so this year they are getting their own.
  4. Cashmere V-Neck Sweater: Such a classic piece every man should have in his wardrobe. Jeff has a few of these and wears them often.
  5. Calvin Klein cotton V-Neck Tees:  These are great basic tees that I always repurchase for Jeff. He asks for them! Also socks are another great stocking stuffer.
  6. Suede Moccasin Slippers: Our family loves gifting slippers each year and these may or may not be under the tree. They are such a steal! These UGG slippers are also a great option.
  7. Wine Refrigerator: I bought this for Jeff a few years ago and has been great! We have been looking for a larger size this time around but this is a great start.
  8. Canali tie: perfect if your man (or dad) works in finance or wears suits to the office. Jeff always has his eye on everything Canali and this tie is on his wish list.
  9. Google Home: My parents got this for Jeff a few years ago and we use it all the time! Great gift idea for anyone on your list.
  10. Hopsy Sub Home Beer Dispenser: This is another gift from a few years ago and perfect if your guy is a beer lover. You can also get a Hopsy membership that delivers beer to your door on a monthly basis for the machine. Jeff also mentioned this wood fire pizza oven is on his list as well as this cocktail smoking box.
  11. Calpak Luggage Set: Luggage always make a great gift especially if he travels often. This is a great set, and great price! Also comes in other colors for anyone on your list.
  12. Gucci Leather Card Case: I bought Jeff a Burberry card case years ago (maybe 6 or 7!) and he still uses it! Its almost time for a new one, and this Gucci card case is perfect. If your guy prefers a larger wallet, this and this are great finds.
  13. Longchamp Garmet Bag: Again for the business traveler, this garmet bag is a great addition to any travel routine.
  14. Bose Wireless Headphones: Jeff has these and loves them. He suggested I add to the list if you are looking for a great set of headphones, these are the best on the market.
  15. Nike Air Max Sneaker: Give the gift of fitness! We love working out together and to keep him motivated get him a new pair of sneaks!
  16. Monogram Watch Box: Love the idea of personalized gifts. This watch box is classy and functional.

 

Also sharing a few experiences below that will also make great gifts for him.

 

  1. Wine club membership: Give the gift of WINE! We are big wine drinkers and love a good wine club membership. Set your man (or Dad) up with a year long wine club membership at his favorite winery. Check out this post for a few of our favorite wine clubs.
  2. Hopsy membership: A monthly beer club membership (or order as many times as you’d like) where you can get monthly growlers or growlets for the beer lovers out there. This would pair great with the Sub Home Beer Dispenser.
  3. Dollar shave club: Every guy needs to shave. Why not get them a membership so they can have everything they need delivered to their door? This membership is such a great price, we get it for every guy in the family.
  4. Golf lessons: Find a course in your area and sign you man up for lessons. I’ve done this in the past and Jeff has asked to go back multiple times. Great gift for siblings or Dad as well!
  5. Car experience: Is he into cars? Rent him a luxury car for the day or a few laps around a race track.
  6. Dig this Las Vegas: This is super random, but Jeff insisted that I add this to the list! It’s a heavy equipment amusement park, where you can play around with adult tonka trucks. I think you’d be surprised how many guys are into this!
  7. Son of a Taylor: Custom measured and custom fitted t-shirts. Jeff loved this last year!

MY MICRONEEDLING EXPERIENCE

Today is going to be a longer than usual post as I share my micro-needling experience from start to finish.

This is definitely not a normal post for me, but when I shared this treatment on Instagram a lot of you were curious so I thought I’d answer all questions you may have here today! So many skin treatments are on the DL these days, but when I shared that I received microneedling many of you have either had it done or are thinking about doing it. Prior to visiting Epi Center Med Spa, I had not heard of this treatment so hopefully this answers your questions. Also, this post may be a little much for some of you as I am sharing close up pictures- just a warning if you are extra sensitive.

Ever since I can remember I’ve had uneven skin pigmentation and texture on my face, especially my cheeks and it has bothered me for years. Most of the time I use makeup to cover up but I’ve always wanted to do something about it and feel more comfortable going makeup free and feeling really good about my own skin. I went in for a consultation at Epi Center Med Spa and they told me that it appears I have early signs of rosacea and it is time that I treat it. The med spa recommended that I try microneedling, one of the hottest skin treatments on the market to cure my pigmentation issues, help reduce fine lines, shrink pores and reduce sun damage.

I am all in favor of being the best version of myself and if there is a way to enhance my skin sign me up!

What is microneedling?

Microneedling involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin. The goal of the tiny puncture wounds it to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process which results in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production, which can reverse and prevent signs of aging. The treatment is minimally invasive with very minimal downtime.

What are the benefits?

  1. Reverse sun damage and pigmentation: collagen is the most vital way to improve the look of skin and by stimulating the growth with microneedling you can reverse sun damage, including hyperpigmentation that comes from melisma.
  2. Reduce fine lines and wrinkles: Microneedling triggers the generation of new cells and can reduce even deepest wrinkles and fine lines in just a few treatments.
  3. Repairs visible scars: Professional grade microneedling devices can be as long as 3 mm, which is three times as effective anything you may buy for at home use as and will treat deep acne scars that occur beneath the surface of the skin
  4. Shrinks pores: It’s a bit counter-intuitive, but microneedling doesn’t actually enlarge pores as you might imagine piercing your skin hundreds of times would. One major benefit is that it helps pores appear much smaller. Microneedling stimulates collagen in and around your pores, which causes them to plump and appear shrunken, if not closed
  5. Makes your skincare products work better: Its crazy to think, but only 4-8% of serums we use on our face actually penetrate the skin! One of microneedling’s additional appeals is that it improves product absorption tremendously. The tiny puctures act like little channels that allow topical products to penetrate better and more effectively.

Minela was my amazing nurse- she’s the best! We had great conversation, laughs and I learned so much about skincare in my hour with her!

What is the process?

First off, I want to share with you how much I love Epi Center Med Spa! They have been in business for over 20 years, and are the first med spa in the country. They are so informative from start to finish and they have some of the best staff in the business. They have so many different treatments at their downtown San Francisco location including botox, fillers, hydrafacials, coolsculpting you name it. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out!

I arrived at Epi Center Med Spa on a Friday night and they immediately removed my makeup and applied a topical numbing cream to my face and neck. I then waited for about 30 minutes for the cream to take effect before starting the treatment.

Once I was ready for the treatment to begin the nurse added another topical cream (I’m not sure what it was) to the area where of my face right before the pen went over my skin. The nurse slowly started to move the pen over my cheeks, forehead, nose, chin then neck. It was actually really painless and I didn’t feel much. There were some spots, such as my neck, that were more sensitive than others but I didn’t very many issues.

There are different levels that the pen can penetrate the skin and I decided to go for the deepest and most effective level. I thought, why not if I’m going through the process anyways! The goal is to create wounds so there is some blood that the nurse wiped away before I could take a look. The treatment time lasted about 20 minutes and then the nurse applied a cooling mask. My skin was extremely red and burned just a little but the cooling mask made all the difference in the world.

I left the med spa with a bit of a red face and went home and applied another cooling mask. The redness is expected to last for a few days, but mine only lasted 2 days. You are not supposed to wear any makeup or apply any skincare products other than the moisturizer they give you, as your wounds are open and you need to be careful to be sure nothing harmful is put on your face during this sensitive time. The nurse told me I may peel a bit, but I only peeled slightly on my neck.

I was then back to normal routine after 3 full days and my skin has improved tremendously! I’m so happy with the way my skin looks today. My hyper pigmentation has reduced significantly and my skin is glowing! It was such an easy process considering the level of improvement of my skin. I could not recommend it more and will be going in for another round in about 8-10 months.

They also do this treatment all over the body, on legs, arms, back etc. Not only that but they also do the Vampire Facials you may have seen via Kim K.
