THE SNEAKERS I’VE BEEN LIVING IN LATELY

Thank you Zappos for sponsoring this post.

Unless you’re new to the blog, you girls are know how much I love a good pair of sneakers. I basically live in activewear and sneakers are no exception. I wear them on my commute to work and everyday to the gym or on a run and I MUCH prefer to wear sneaks alllll weekend long as well! If you’re on the hunt, look no further, I found the pair you need in your closet!

I’m a big fan of New Balance due to both comfort level and look and style. I also love what they stand for. From the very beginning New Balance has created products in their own unique way, without fearing what others may think and they continue to do so today. Being fearlessly independent is something that resonates with me as I share my own personal style through the blog and social channels. I like to step out of the norm and be my own person. I also love to pair sneakers with an everyday work look, because why not? Comfort is at the top of my list and these New Balance sneakers will be worn with all different looks!

These New Balance Fresh Foam Cruz V2 sneakers are so insanely comfortable and I love that they can be worn both while working out or with a more casual everyday look. They are super versatile and easy to style. I’ll be wearing with denim, leggings, black pants, white pants you name it.

Whenever I’m on the hunt for sneakers or really anything for that matter my first stop is ALWAYS Zappos.com. Zappos has the fastest delivery, FREE SHIPPING(!!) and their customer service is really something else. What makes a great ecommerce site is both fast shipping and customers service and Zappos is 5+ stars in both categories. I ordered these sneakers, received FREE SHIPPING and got them the very next day! They also have a 365 day return policy and a huge assortment of brands and styles.

Zappos will always be my go-to shopping site. I’ve always been so happy with my experience and will be sharing more of my favorites from Zappos on the blog soon!

WORK IN YOUR WORKOUT WITH ATHLETA

Thank you Athleta for sponsoring this post.

One of my favorite things about our recent move to Nob Hill (San Francisco) is my commute to work. It now takes me 10 minutes to walk to and from my office where as prior I was hopping on the bus which would take me sometimes close to an hour. It’s been seriously life changing for me. You guys know that I always make time to workout and now that I can walk to work and have more time to workout during the day I am one happy camper let me tell ya!

I usually like to hit the gym after work which is close by as well. (We are spoiled with our new location!) So when Athleta reached out to partner with their #WorkInYourWorkout Challenge, it was right up my alley. Instead of walking to/from one location to the next, I have been changing up my routine and running to squeeze in that extra cardio wearing Athleta’s new commute line.

OUTFIT DETAILS: SPORTS BRA / TOP / LEGGINGS / BACKPACK

Photography by Shannon Righetti

Athleta’s new commute line is genius. I feel like it was made for me! I am used to carrying a huge gym bag with me wherever I go, but with this new line I am able to bring just a change of shoes and be ready to go. Not to mention this backpack has been a lifesaver for my back! Lugging around my computer and gym clothes while walking up these steep hills in San Francisco is no easy feat.

All I need to do is change into sneakers, remove a layer or two and head out the door.  My favorite thing to do after work on a nice San Francisco day is run home or to the gym and Athleta makes that so effortless.

The Herringbone Mercer Tights are so versatile and actually look like everyday leggings, with a thicker material to make more work appropriate. I’m in love with this sports bra! It’s cute while giving me the coverage and support I need for a run.

Since work-life balance is such a struggle for many these days, making time for fitness has been more challenging as well. This line inspires us to integrate both work and life worlds and make it easier for us to stay active and keep moving. Thank you Athleta for thinking how to make us working girls lives just a bit easier!

MY TOP TEN WINERIES TO VISIT IN NAPA & SONOMA

We’ve spent quite a few weekends up in Sonoma and Napa area visiting wineries and harvesting grapes as well! I’m not sure how many of you know that I grew up in the town of Sonoma so Wine Country holds a special place in my heart. If I could go up to Wine Country every weekend I would!

A few weekends ago we picked up our wine shipments at Walt Wines and Roger Roessler then headed to BR Cohn. BR Cohn is a beautiful winery nestled in the hills of Sonoma. They have incredible juice and a really gorgeous property. They hosted us for lunch, music and flower crown making which made for such a fun Saturday!

OUTFIT DETAILS: SET BY COTTON CANDY LA VIA BOLLARE / PURSE / HEELS

Photography by Andrew Ross-Perry (and others via Jeff!)

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw that Jeff and I had the opportunity to help my Dad harvest his Chardonnay vines! He has a few vines on a friend’s property and has recently picked up the hobby of winemaking. This past weekend we went to the vineyard to help him pick and prepare the grapes for this year’s vintage. We picked almost 2,000 pounds of Chardonnay, de-stemmed and then my Dad will go back to crush. Next weekend we are planning to do the same for his Merlot vines. Winemaking is such a complex process, I have a whole new appreciation for sipping wine!

I get quite a few questions on which wineries I would recommend so today I’m sharing my TOP TEN WINERIES IN NAPA & SONOMA. I’ve broken them down and listed my top 5 in Sonoma and top 5 in Napa. It was a hard choice as there are SO many wineries out there today! Also, it totally comes down to preference so what I like may not be the same for others. I’m a huge fan of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir although I have a deep appreciation for all varietals! Below is my top ten at the moment.

SONOMA

  1. Walt Wines – We have been members of both Hall and Walt Wines for a few years now and can’t seem to give it up! They are sister wineries so with a membership you get access to both wineries. Walt is right off the plaza in Sonoma while Hall is a much bigger facility located in Napa. With this membership we get the best of both worlds. Walt has some of the best full bodies Pinot Noir’s in town! I love their wines, and the staff treats us like family. We always look forward to visiting.
  2. Three Sticks – Another tasting room off the plaza in Sonoma, but this is not an ordinary tasting room. It is a beautiful experience in a historic adobe building. Another magical experience trying all of their Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs- my favorite! Make sure to head across the street to the Girl and the Fig for a bite to eat!
  3. Hamel Family Wines – We’ve visited Hamel a few times now and the property is insanely gorgeous! If you have time I highly suggest doing the full tour. They really treat you to a special experience. They have quite a few variatels including Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfindel and a few blends. They are all phenomenal!
  4. Sojourn Cellars – Another tasting room right off the plaza in Sonoma, Sojourn is known for their highly rated Pinots and Cabs. The high ratings are no joke, they have some good juice! They have a smaller tasting room, reservations required (but worth the wait!)
  5. BR Cohn – A larger venue, nestled up in Sonoma Mountain BR Cohn is a beautiful estate specializing in wines across the board. They have Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernets and Malbec wines to name a few. The owner managed the Doobie Brother’s for 45 years, so needless to say they have lots of fun events happening at the winery including many concerts, oyster tastings and endless opportunities to picnic and enjoy the beautiful views.

NAPA

  1. Hall Wines – A sister winery to Walt, Hall is the home of big bold Cabs. We always make a point to stop at Hall when up in Wine Country and have been members for years. They also just started a new label named BACA. I was pleasantly surprised with these Zins. I’m never a fan of zins and these are to die for! Beautiful grounds, amazing people and wine to perfection. Kathryn Hall Cabs are another fave!
  2. Alpha Omega – When driving down St Helena Hwy in Napa you can’t help but stop at Alpha Omega. The water fountains and beautiful grounds draw you in but the wines make you want to stay all day. We recently joined the membership and look forward to bringing friends to visit each time. We look forward to going to the many member events and sipping on the Proprietary Red and Pinot Noir.
  3. Stags Leap Wine Cellars – If you’re a cab drinker this is the winery for you. The property has wonderful views of the Napa hills, with a great outdoor seating area overlooking their vineyards. Stags Leap really shines in its reds and its service. We became wine club members awhile back because we’re such big fans of their Cask23. They really make celebratory dinners memorable.
  4. Brasswood – We made a reservation on a tasting of Napa pass and were pleasantly surprised enough to call this one a favorite! They make elegant wines, cook delicious food and create a warm space for guests to sit back and relax. We really enjoyed our time and will be back many more.
  5. Chandon – If you love sparkling wine, you must check out Chandon. They have some tasty bubbly and another beautiful property. For me, ambiance is everything (I’m sure you can see from the above choices)! Chandon is a refreshing stop among the sea of big bold cabs in Napa Valley.

Jeff is a huge wine guy, and not only looks for new wineries to explore but also wines to invest in. A few others that we love are Dana Estates, Nickel and Nickel, Scarecrow and Bond. Those being on the higher end, we also love to find the best bang for our buck. Roger Roessler Black Pine Pinot Noir is that bang. We joined the Black Pine membership (3 bottles every 2 months) for a steal! Black Pine is one of my favorite Pinot Noir and with the membership the wine is less than $20 a bottle! We will never give this one up!

BR Cohn is offering you all 2 for 1 tastings! Follow this link to claim.

I hope this post was helpful! Let me know in the comments if you’ve been to any of these or would recommend any other wineries! I’d love to hear from you!

Running around the streets of NYC in a beautiful gown put a HUGE smile on my face. I was definitely in my element. I had a few evening events to attend during New York Fashion Week, so I was in the mood to go all out. I knew I had to have this gown the second I saw it. Its so lightweight and sheer from the knee down.

You can never be too overdressed in New York is my motto.

What do you guys think about this look? xx

NYFW 2018: DAY ONE

It’s that time of year when NYC is EXTRA magical and dreamy. It’s New York Fashion week! I attended my second NYFW last week, and I still can’t believe it! I am totally on cloud nine from the few days that I was there. Not in a million years would I have thought that I would get to live out my dream of sitting at fashion shows, working with incredible brands and sharing my experience with all of you! I am so so incredibly grateful.

The energy in the city was infectious, I cant even describe it! The fashion inspiration is everywhere you look and I always leave wanting to work a little harder with allll the creative juices flowing. This year I only stayed for 2 full days, so my schedule was jam packed. I had the opportunity to go to a few shows, my favorite being Michael Costello. It was a magical show filled with flowy dresses, bold color and sexy designs. I also had the opportunity to attend events and parties including events hosted by RewardStyle and Lulus. Fashion week is also a great time to network with brands and fellow bloggers.

OUTFIT DETAILS: ASYMMETRICAL TOP / PANTS / HEELS / BAG / EARRINGS / HAIR BY GLAMSQUAD

When I saw these pants, I knew I had to have them. I wore a similar design by AMUR to my brother’s wedding in dress form and I fell in love with the brand. Flared pants are everything right now (and forever in my opinion). I LOVE that they are high waist, and the design is very 70’s chic. They fit like an absolute glove, I adore them!

Here are a few other similar style from AMUR. I’ll take one of each please!

This asymmetrical white top is another favorite. I loved it so much I also snagged it in black. A basic that will be worn over and over again.

This handbag was a very special purchase for fashion week. I have been eyeing it forever and thought now was the time. No regrets here!

I will be sharing 2 more fashion week looks with you all this week! Have a good one always. xx
