Its finally here!! I am so very excited to share my NEW blog! Welcome to the new jennapardini.com!

I have been working on a complete re-design and re-brand for months and it has been not only been a labor of love, but it has honestly been so rewarding to see it come to life! So, you must be thinking “why the change?” Well, honestly Fitness and the City just didnt feel completely relevant anymore. I really wanted to transform my site into a space where I can share ALL things that I love. Not just fitness, I want to include all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle. You have probably noticed the shift already on instagram, and it was time to make the change here as well.

I will definitely still be sharing a lot of fitness content! Fitness is still a huge part of my life, but now you will be seeing a lot more elements of my everyday life!

So, lets talk a little about the new layout. The new site makes it SO much easier to find the posts you are looking for and to shop all of my favorite things. There are multiple category drop downs that you can use to search. Categories include, STYLE, FITNESS, NUTRITION, BEAUTY and LIFESTYLE. There is also a drop down tab called SHOP. Here you can choose to shop some of my favorite pieces broken down by category: CURRENTLY CRAVING, FIT FASHION, UNDER $100 and SHOP MY INSTAGRAM. Super easy, right?!

You can contact me, by filling out the CONTACT form on the header. Whether you have any questions, just want to say hello or are a brand and would like to discuss partnership opportunities, please do so, I would love to hear from you!

As I mentioned, this was a labor of love! I want to first thank SCAL.IO who transferred all of my content to my new domain. This was not an easy task, and they did such an incredible job. They gave me such great advice throughout the process and I am so thankful for that. They were also very patient with me, as I can code here and there but I am definitely not a tech wiz by any means! If you need any help handcrafting any type of software (web, app etc) I highly recommend SCAL.IO.

I also want to thank 17th Avenue Designs for the beautiful design! Once my content was transferred and set up to how I envisioned, 17th Avenue helped me  with all design features.

I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out, and most importantly I hope you enjoy as well! Thank you so so much for all of your support, I am looking forward to this next chapter!

#UPFORANYTHING CHALLENGE WITH ATHLETA

I am so excited to kick off the new year with a fitness campaign! Athleta has been one of my favorite activewear brands for years now so I immediately accepted the challenge when they nominated me to be a part of their #UPFORANYTHING campaign. Athleta’s goal for the #UPFORANYTHING challenge is to push women out of their comfort zone in our new #UPFORANYTHING gear and take a fitness class that we’ve always dreamed of taking- or maybe a class that we’ve needed that extra push to take.

Challenge accepted! I grabbed my partner in crime Amira, and we decided to take a boxing class! I’ve wanted to get into boxing for years now, but have never pulled the trigger. I figured it would get me out of my comfort zone, and regular routine of running and/or weightlifting, and that it did!

Athleta sent us all the gear we needed to take our first boxing class: Up For Anything Tights, All in Bras, Essence Tie Back Tanks, and a Swell water bottle.

Armed and ready, Amira and I headed to Pilates Pro Works in San Francisco to take their MatBox class. I’ve been meaning to take this class forever and I’m so glad we did! The class started with a cardio warmup including jumping jacks, burpees, pushups and more to get our heart rate going. Then we got to high intensity boxing and kickboxing with a punching bag where we did rounds of different sets. Amira and I shared a bag and had so much fun letting loose and going for it! Then the gloves came off and we did a few light weight training moves and ended with a yoga sequence. I absolutely LOVED the variety in this class! Ending with yoga seemed to be the perfect cool down to what was a very intense class. And not to mention, it was such a great workout and a great way to get out any extra tension. My hands were sore, but my adrenaline took over!

The Up for Anything tights were perfect for class. They are made from a sculptek light fabric for the perfect combination of movement and support. They are so so comfortable, have a high waist band which hugs in all of the right places, and also have four convenient pockets which I love. Athleta sports bras have always been my all time favorite, and this All in Bra is no different. It provides such great support and just fits so well. If you are in the market for new tights and bra, these two are it!

Athleta’s mission is to ignite a community of active, healthy and confident women who empower each other to realize their limitless potential. This campaign did just that. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in Athleta’s mission and get out of my comfort zone to try something new. I am now obsessed with boxing and will be adding to my routine go forward.

BEST PURCHASES OF 2017

Happy almost 2018! 2017 was such a great year for me professionally and personally. In the blogging world, I really felt like I was able to take my blog to the next level this year. I have loved writing and posting more consistently and I have been so overwhelmed by your responses. You all have been THE BEST, so extremely supportive and motivating me to keep going, so THANK YOU!

Once I finish writing this post, I’m going to jot down a few things I’ve learned, a few highs and some lows from 2017, then look forward to 2018 goals. I always like to reflect on the year and make sure that the next is even better. Do you do the same at the end of a year?

I love styling outfits and have found a bunch of great pieces in 2017 that I will take along with me into 2018. Below are some of my absolute favorite purchases in 2017.

MOST LOVED LAYER:

This Blank NYC leather jacket has been my favorite purchase all around! Its such great quality, price point and perfect fit, I’ve been wearing it wayyyy to much! I also absolutely love this suede moto jacket. Both a staple in my wardrobe.

BEST INVESTMENT PIECE:

This Gucci belt has been so incredibly popular on social media and I can see why! It really makes any outfit come together and adds the perfect finishing touch.

MOBILE MUST HAVE:

I’m on my phone a lot, and my battery used to die around 5pm everyday. It was so frustrating to find a charger or have a dead phone on my hands. This Mophie case has been life changing! Its a bit heavy, but to have a charged phone all the time makes it worth it.

WARDROBE STAPLE: 

Because every girl needs a cute off the shoulder sweater, this one is perfect. I love the neutral color, the looser fit and material. Such a classic, sexy, effortless look.

IT BAG:

 This Cuyana bag was a gift from Jeff, and my most used bag of the year. For an evening look, I have been using this Rebecca Minkoff bag over and over again.

DREAM FIT DENIM:

 I have been really into high waist, crop denim with a distressed hem. These Paige jeans are the PERFECT fit. I have bought them twice because I love and wear them so much. If you are looking for a blue denim, this pair has been another favorite this year.

FITNESS FAVE: 

Hellloooo favorite leggings! These are my most worn pair, along with this Nike crop sweater.

BEST BASIC: 

A white tee is a must have, and Ive actually bought this one in many colors. It’s under $20 and such a great fit.

COZY UP: 

I have been lounging quite a bit, especially with the holidays in full swing. These sweatpants have been perfect. I’ve actually been wearing them year round since its a bit cooler here in San Francisco. They are soooo cozy, the perfect pair of comfies.

PRETTIEST POUT:

 I’ve finally found my perfect lip combo. I wear this Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in Sonic Truth + Poutliner lip pencil every single day, I love it! I am a big fan of lining my lips and this shade is the perfect neutral. The lipstick is nude with a light pink tone, my favorite shade of all time!

SHOE CRUSH:

How to choose just one?! These Steve Madden heels have been a lifesaver. They go with EVERYTHING year round! I also love these nude pumps and these over the knee boots.

BEST BAUBLE:

I also received this David Yurman bracelet as a gift from Jeff, but I would definitely purchase on my own. I wear it daily, its such a classic piece of jewelry that I will wear for years.

MOST WORN ACCESSORY:

 I am a big hat person and this fiddler cap is one of my favorite purchases. I’m sure you’re sick of seeing me wear this one 😉

LASH GOALS:

Hellooooo voluminous lashes! I am obssessed with this velvet noir mascara. It adds sooo much volume I haven’t found another mascara that even compares.

HEALTHY LOCKS:

So many products are used for a good hair day, am I right? If I had to choose one, this Oribe Texturizing Spray has been a must have. Ok, If I had to choose two, this Alterna treatment oil would be my next recommendation. I can’t live without it!

2017 SCENT: 

I have a bunch of different perfumes, but my favorite this year has been the Jo Malone English Pear and Fresia. Its refreshing, energizing and will most likely be wearing it into 2018.

TWO POST-CHRISTMAS SALES YOU NEED TO SHOP NOW

The very BEST way to cure the post-Christmas blues?? SHOP all of the great sales going on right now! Well, maybe trying to detox and hit the gym after all of the delicious food and drinks with fam this past weekend, THEN hitting up the sales. Aside from Christmas decor and holiday gift sales (helllllo Homegoods!) there are several great sales going on. Today I am sharing two of my favorite retailers who have some great sales you need to check out!

First off, I shot this look a week before Christmas and had no clue that this duster would go on sale! I am SO happy it did, because it was a little pricey and I was most likely not going to post it. I like to keep most of my looks at an affordable price point, but now that its on sale I feel much more comfortable sharing!

Revolve Clothing has some GREAT finds on sale! I’ve been on a duster kick lately as you can tell from today’s post, and I also posted this one (now on sale) here. I also love this and this one as well.

I’ve found some great New Years Eve options. We are still undecided about our NYE plans, and so needless to say I am still looking for either a dress or fun top. I absolutely love this gold dress, and this and this top could be soooo cute with a pair of high waist pants and pretty heels for a more casual look.

This metallic skirt, this silk ruffle top and this white blouse are all in my cart! This dress was another (I LOVE and now on sale) posted about here.

 

 

And of course, it wouldn’t be a sale roundup with some of my favorite Nordstrom Picks. Nordstrom is having their Half Yearly sale right now, so I’m back at it shopping both in store and online. I was so happy to get a Nordstrom gift card for Christmas, so I am wasting no time at all! 😉

If I had to pick 3 top items from this sale, it would definietly be this suede jacket (a MUST HAVE!), these SUPER comfy sweatpants which I own and wear constantly, and this fleece I’m planning to purchase with my gift card.

I’ve also been eyeing these Adidas and I may pull the trigger. I am assuming they are ok running shoes? I also love these booties and these UGG slippers.
