HOW TO KEEP YOUR SKIN GLOWING DURING WINTER MONTHS

The winter months are upon us, which means its time to switch up our skincare routine, and maybe add an extra step or two. In fact, as of last week, I’ve noticed my skin much more dry and trying to adapt to the new temps.

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: FOR HER

Can you believe its already that time?! The Holidays are in full swing! We just had a Friendsgiving feast this weekend, and we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving in Sonoma this year. But let’s be honest, not sure about you but I’m pretty excited about the holiday shopping season! I’ve actually gotten a bit of a head start this year, as I’m usually a pretty big procrastinator. If you haven’t, no worries I’ve got you covered!

Today I’m sharing my first gift guide of the year! Lots of fun gifts for her whether that be your bestie, your mom, or even for yourself. 😉 So lets get started…

  1. I always looks for cashmere gifts year after year. Whether that be a scarf, a blanket or a sweater like this crewneck cashmere sweater, you really can’t go wrong! I love how sophisticated his one looks and love the little side slits.
  2. This rolling carry on bag is on my Christmas list this year! Hint hint, mom or Jeff. 😉 Perfect for a travel addict friend or family member, this is the cutest carry on bag for just $135! I love the beige color, but also comes in black and a few other shades.
  3. What women in your life doesn’t like a new handbag?! You can never go wrong with a tote, clutch or this saddle bag from Cuyana. While picking out a bag, I would defintiely stick to neutral colors, black, grey or beige are always the safest route. I actually have this bag and absolutely adore it. It was a gift from Jeff for my birthday and its made out of the most beautiful Italian leather. Cuyana also has a selection of gorgeous totes, makeup pouches and wallets as well!
  4. If you are looking for a higher end gift, David Yurman bangles are timeless. I love this one which was also given to me as a gift and have been looking for one with a ruby stone on the end. If you are looking to be a little more personalized, I would suggest a piece of jewelry with the persons’s birthstone. Something they will treasure forever!
  5. Ok, hands down the best eyeshadow palettes that I have ever used! For the makeup junkie or even for someone who is just getting into makeup, this Marc Jacobs Beauty Eyeconic eyeshadow palette is gorgeous! The packaging is to die for, and the shades and payoff are just perfect. I love the Scandalust palette for those warm orange tones, or the Glambition palette for more of a safe, neutral look.
  6. Because everyone can use a winter coat! I am loving camel coats this year and this Wool Coat is no different. So classy and chic.
  7. I started using a silk pillowcase about a year ago and it has changed my life! My hair is much smoother and I also dont ever get those sleep wrinkles anymore. Not only that, but I love the feel of silk on my skin. Whenever I mention this to people they go out and buy one right away, so I will be giving out quite a few of this silk mask and pillowcase gift set this year!
  8. Give me all the comfy pj’s! These lace up sweatpants are so cozy and if I’m going to get a pair of sweats, they might as well be cute! This pair is only $65 (I’ve seen similar pairs for over $100)
  9. And if you want the coziest pj set, you need to snag  this shorts set, ($55) for someone on your list (or yourself).
  10. Jo Malone has some yummy fragrances and beautiful packaging. I got my mom a Jo Malone set this year for her birthday and she loved it! They also have this sampler set if your not sure which scent to choose.
  11. Off the shoulder sweaters are on repeat over here, and this one is one of my faves for under $60. Another perfect sweater for a girlfriend or yourself. 🙂

OUR TRIP TO CHICAGO

As most of you know, Jeff and I traveled to Chicago a few weeks ago (my first time!) and I’m finally getting a post up for all of you girls who’ve asked me about our trip! Today I’m sharing a few looks, along with some popular things to do in Chicago.

Jeff’s company is based out of Chicago so he visits often for work, and this time I got to tag along. The company had a huge party that I was also invited to, and I was so happy to finally see the city and meet a bunch of his lovely coworkers. We stayed 4 days which was relatively quick, but we squeezed as much in as possible during that short time.

Chicago is BEAUTIFUL!!! I loved every single thing about this city. I know I may feel slightly differently during the winter months, but we had the most beautiful weather- 70 and sunny! We stayed along the riverfront and I loved walking up and down the river, checking out all the cute little shops and enjoyed the beautiful cityscape.

I wore this outfit to dinner one night at RPM Steakhouse. Holy smokes, that place was so delicious. HIGHLY recommend if your into steak and martinis (with blue cheese olives of course). 🙂

I picked up this cozy sweater from Forever 21 while we were in Chicago! Jeff had to go into the office a few days, so I of course walked Magnificent Mile and hit up all the good shopping!

While we didnt have a whole lot of time, I always make my list of things we have to do/see before we leave. Here are a few of my recommendations:

  • Architecture Boat Tour: This is a must (in the summer months at least)! It sounds corny, but this tour is the best way to see the city. Jeff has no interest in going until we read more about it and almost everyone we ran into told us to check it out. We went on the Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise which was recommended to us. The tour was about an hour and a half, where we learned all about the cities history and beautiful architecture. Most of the photos above are taken from our tour.
  • Shop the Magnificent Mile: I had a full day to myself and shopping the Magnificent mile on Michigan Avenue was on my list! There is almost every store you can think of, lined with beautiful flowers and incredible architecture. It reminded me a bit of 5th Ave in NYC. Lets just say the mile kept me busy all day. 🙂
  • Take a pic at the Bean: You can’t visit Chicago without heading to Millenium Park and taking a photo at the Bean! I was so excited to check out this iconic spot.
  • Take a lap around Wrigley field and/or check out a Cubs game!
