PALM SPRINGS RECAP PART 1

Helllllo lovelies! As many of you know, Jeff and I ventured to Palm Springs for my birthday a few weeks ago and today I am finally sharing a fun recap from our trip! I love going away for my birthday each year and this year all I asked was that we go somewhere where I can lay by a pool and just relax. No touristy things, just a pool, a cocktail and some tan lines. Jeff booked the trip a few months in advance and surprised me with a stay at La Quinta Resort which is in La Quinta, CA (about 30 mins away from Palm Springs).

We stayed for 5 days which was PERFECT. It was so nice to unplug (well, aside from social media), take a break from work and just spend time in the sun for more then just a weekend. It was HOT. And by hot I mean 120 degrees! But honestly wasnt so bad, as we were in the water or in AC most of the time.

La Quinta Resort is a BEAUTIFUL place!! I cant rave enough about every little detail of our stay. We didnt really want a “scene”, we wanted old historic Palm Springs and I loved everything about it. La Quinta was built in the 1920’s and has such incredible history. You can read more about it here. I was shocked to find out that La Quinta has 41 swimming pools, ,5 golf courses, a beautiful spa, tennis court, fitness center and gorgeous villas. And we definitely checked out each and every one of those things!

The grounds were incredible. The landscaping was perfect, I wanted to take a picture on every little inch of the property!

I loved the beautiful mission architecture. One of my favorite styles!

OUTFIT DETAILS ABOVE: VICI DOLLS ROMPER (SIMILAR) / MERONA HEELS / FREE PEOPLE BAG / LUCKY BRAND EARRINGS / KOMONO SUNGLASSES

I packed a bunch of fun summer looks. which I was REALLY looking forward to wearing due to our SF “Summer”. This little dress from Lovers + Friends is the cutest, I love the cutout detail and ease of throwing on a dress and heading out the door. I LIVED in this hat and these sandals. Straw totes were also a must, and picked up this one from Free People. I am obsessed with this round guy, and have used it so so much since I purchased. I saw this cute Vici Dolls romper a week before we left and knew I had to have it. The ruffles are darling and who doesn’t love a romper?! Vici Dolls tends to sell out fast, but they have a lot of restocks so you can have them email you when your size is back in stock.

On the second night we went to a wonderful dinner at Morgans (AMAZING steak dinner), and my best friend and her husband surprised me and stayed the weekend with us! Then the next day at the pool I had another wonderful surprise from my sweet friend who now lives in LA. Thank you my loves for making my birthday that much more special!

We had SUCH a blast hanging by the pool in our floaties, watching a movie by the pool, having a wonderful spa day….we had no reason to leave the resort. The food at each restaurant was incredible, there wasn’t one single meal that was a let down. The spa was gorgeous as expected and our treatments were nothing short of spectacular. I never wanted to leave the spa! It was the definition of relaxation. I also went to the fitness center a few times, as you all know fitness is a big part of my life and I even make it a part of my life on vacation. They had classes each day, and I took a TRX and kettlebell class which was so much fun.

So if you cant tell by now, I would highly recomend you head on over to Palm Springs (area) and stay at La Quinta Resort! If you are looking to relax, hang by the pool, play golf, relax at the spa, this is the place for you! (BTW this is not a sponsored post at all, I just loved it so much!)

I will post a part 2 of this recap next week! I have more outfits to share with you. along with a few more deets about this spot and where we went we ventured off the property. Have a great rest of the week! xo

DAY TRIP TO PINNACLES NATIONAL PARK

This past weekend we ventured 2 hours south of San Francisco to Pinnacles National Park for an outdoor adventure. We love staying active outdoors and this hike was nothing short of a GREAT workout and such a fun experience.

When Skedaddle reached out to me to see if I wanted to join them for a day trip, I was really looking forward to getting out of the city and trying something new.

Skedaddle is an on demand bus pooling app which makes it easy to get out and explore. They travel to beaches, parks, or any events in your area. Its super simple to book your ride, you just head on over to their app and once 10 people agree on the same ride, the route goes live and Skedaddle sends a vehicle to transport the group- kind of like uber for buses/ group adventures. Also, skedaddle is donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every rider traveling to a national park this summer. So that kind of sealed the deal.

We met at 8:30am in the Sunset District and hopped in the van to head on down towards Central California. We went with 8 others who were up for the same adventure, so once everyone joined we were off. The van was super comfortable for the long(ish) ride and before we knew it we were at the park.

Trails at Pinnacles National Park have a very distinctive look, they are surrounded by a very unique rock that combines volcanic and sedimentary rock. The giant boulders you can see from these photos were formed as a result of volcanic activity that occurred over 23 million years ago!

Jeff and I honestly had NO IDEA what we were in for. A little hike/walk/jaunt? Ummm not so much. We were in for a huge hike, and it happened to be 95+ degrees that day! Jeff would kill me for posting any photos of him dripping in sweat so that’s why you dont see him here, but a big shout out to him for taking all my pics! (I was dripping in sweat also, the hat covers my red face thank goodness!)

Although the hike was crazy hard (even for us being an active crew) it was GORGEOUS. Mother nature is such a beautiful thing and I am so thankful we had the opportunity to explore this beautiful place. If you do visit, I suggest you start on the west side of the park as we did and head Juniper Canyon Trail. It a pretty steep incline, but the views are worth the trek! Once we got to the top we stopped for lunch then continued onto High Peaks Trail then Bear Gulch Cave Trail. Here we hiked through beautiful caves. This was a pretty cool part of the hike, where we needed flash lights and really had to get through small passages to get to the other side of the cave. We didn’t have enough time to check out the reservoir, but heard its a site to see. We were fortunate enough to have the Skedaddle driver pick us up on the other side of the park, so we wouldn’t have to hike 5 miles back where we came from. Super convenient and just the right distance.

A few tips if you are planning your trip: bring lots and lots of water and pack a lunch! There are so many beautiful places to stop and enjoy the view. Plan to spend the whole day there, and really take in all it has to offer.

We are looking forward to getting outdoors for another hike and using Skedaddle to take us there! What are your favorite hiking trails?

Thanks to Skedaddle for sponsoring this post.

FROM GYM TO STREET: THE MESH LEGGINGS YOU NEED IN YOUR CLOSET

I love a good pair of leggings that I can wear both in the gym and out and about whether that be grabbing a cup of coffee or running errands. I’m usually a black legging kind of girl and no matter how many I have piling up in my closet, I always find the need for another! Hopefully I’m not the only one! 🙂

Today I’m sharing the perfect mesh legging from Lanston Sport. I’m a HUGE fan of the mesh trend, but I do find myself very particular about how much mesh, where the mesh is located etc. I find it can be over done very easily, but these are the perfect pair that you need in your closet.

OUTFIT DETAILS: LANSTON SPORT LEGGINGS (C/O) / LANSTON SPORT SPORTS BRA (C/O) / LEATHER JACKET / ADIDAS NMD RUNNERS / GIVENCHY BAG (UNDER $60)

I’ve mentioned this quite a bit but in San Francisco we LOVE our leggings, leather jacket, and almost always go for an all black look. This is definitely what you will find me wearing after work, or on the weekends.

I LIVE in these leggings, as the mesh hits in all of the right places. This sports bra is also one of my favorites due to the fact that it has side cutouts, and a thicker band which makes it much for comfortable for me. If you have never tried Lanston Sport, I highly recommend you check out this brand! They have so many cute fashionable and functional workout wear!

Here are a few more of my favorite pieces from Lanston Sport. At the top of my list are both these and these black and white leggings, as well as this sports bra and this cami.

Hope you all have a great week! xo

Hope you are having a great week!! We are heading to Palm Spring tomorrow to celebrate my birthday, and I am SO excited for a little getaway. Can’t wait to share photos with you! Be sure to follow my insta to keep up daily. 🙂

Anyways, I feel as if every woman needs an LBD in their closet at all times (or a few for that matter)! It goes without saying that they are a classic and can be worn for so many different occasions. Whenever I find a good one, I always snag it because I know I’ll have many opportunities to wear it. Today I’m sharing THE PERFECT LBD for under $25!

OUTFIT DETAILS: DRESS / EARRINGS / CLUTCH / SHOES

Shannon Righetti Photography

I found this steal of a dress on Nasty Gal as they are currently having a 50% off everything sale! The price alone is reason enough to buy. 🙂 I love the ruffle sleeves, as well as the tie front and cutout detail. It’s definitely more on the sexy side, but the over the knee length makes it a little less revealing. I am sooo glad I purchased, it fits like a glove and I HIGHLY recommend this little number.

Here are a few other classic LBD’s that are on the top of the list. Among my favorites are this simple off the shoulder dress,  and this cute long sleeve open back number.
