FOURTH OF JULY STYLE INSPIRATION

I cant believe we are only 2 weeks away from the 4th of July! Its one of my favorite holidays. Who doesn’t like to be patriotic, BBQ and end the day with fireworks?! We love spending the 4th in Sonoma with family and friends. We usually start the day with a cute community parade, BBQ in the park and watch fireworks from our backyard. This year probably wont be any different, as its a special tradition that I’d hate to break.

OUTFIT DETAILS: TOP (SIMILAR HERE, HERE) / JEANS / BANDANA / DENIM JACKET / CLUTCH / BRACELET

Today I’m sharing a fun patriotic look that I put together with the basics: the best fitting jeans and a cute off the shoulder cropped tee. These jeans are my favorite pair that I own! They are the perfect cropped flair, and fit in all of the right places. I love how they are high waisted with the button detail up the front. They just fit so darn well and I wear them constantly! If you are looking for a cropped flair, look no further.

This red top is such a cute fit, I couldnt resist. It’s also pretty casual, perfect for a day in the park. I added a little bandana flair, which you can wear so many different ways. I think its so cute to tie around my neck, around my wrist, or even around my waist or bag straps. Such a fun accessory!

This look is more so on the dressy side with these heels if you have an event or party to attend, but since I will be running about town I will most likely swap with chucks or sandals.

And a few more red white and blue pieces perfect for the 4th of July weekend:

What are your 4th of July plans?? xo

MAJOR PALM SPRINGS STYLE EDIT

Hope you all are having a great week! Jeff surprised me with a trip to Palm Springs in a few weeks for my 30th birthday, so needless to say I’ve been shopping up a storm! I’ve only been to Palm Springs for work, so this will be my first time for vacation and I’m really looking forward to a little R&R by the pool. I’ve been dying for a relaxing long weekend in the sun, so it’s definitely my ideal way to celebrate my big 3.0.

Today I’m sharing some fun summer finds that I’ve been eyeing lately. I love planning my outfits for trips and find it so fun to shop for vacay!

WHITE MAXI DRESS / YELLOW GINGHAM DRESS / ORANGE SET / BLUE GINGHAM DRESS / STRIPED MAXI DRESS / WHITE ROMPER / BAMBOO CLUTCH / PINK BIKINI / WIDE BRIM HAT / WHITE OPEN BACK BODYSUIT / ROUND TOTE / CORK HEELS / CHAMBRAY OFF THE SHOULDER / WHITE BIKINI

It’s going to be pretty hot so I’m planning on bringing a lot of swimwear, flowy dresses and lightweight tops. I usually go for more neutral colors, but how fun is this striped dress? I’ve been eyeing this romper, this white maxi and this white bodysuit forever and I think its time to pull the trigger. Can you tell I’m having a thing for white right now? I LOVE this bamboo clutch, and use it often as you can see from my instagram. I also have this budget friendly wide brim which I love, as well as these cork heels. Definitely picking up this white bikini! I have never worn a high waist suit before, but I’m definitely going to hop on that bandwagon.

Ive also come across a TON of great swimwear finds. I’m really into the high waist swimwear trend as well as the one pieces! I never thought I would gravitate towards one pieces but I think they are so cute! I love all Marysia Swim but I’m also sharing a few budget friendly suits below. I ordered quite a few bikinis from SheIn (they are all around $15!!) which seems a little crazy, so I will keep you girls posted on quality.

SUMMER ESSENTIAL: MAXI DRESS

Hope you all had a great weekend! We are heading down to Palm Springs in a few weeks so I’ve been on the hunt for some fun summer finds, maxi dresses, swimsuits you name it. We dont have much of a summer here in San Francisco which is why I stock up for vacation. We have had a few nice weekends, so that’s when I take advantage and break out all my maxis and wide brim hats. Today I’m sharing this cute maxi from a brand that I’m newly obsessed with, Flynn Skye.

OUTFIT DETAILS: DRESS // HAT // SHOES

You can never go wrong with a maxi dress! I LOVE the fun sleeves on this little number! I also prefer when a maxi has a slit, making it much easier to get around and give a little breathing room. This dress also comes in a few different colors below.

I have always been a big fan of wide brim hats. I love the brand Janessa Leone, but I’ve found this much more affordable brand recently which I am pretty excited about! I picked up this and this hat for $44 which I wear often! I love the style and fit of both and break them out whenever I can!

Flynn Skye is the cutest bohemian brand from Venice, CA (near LA) and this brand definitely represents the style and vibe of Venice. I’m usually not a pattern type of girl, but some of their prints definitely changed my mind!

Here’s a roundup of my favorites from Flynn Skye:

HAIR CARE ROUTINE + FAVORITE PRODUCTS

Alright ladies, I’ve gotten a ton of requests for this one! Today I’m talking all about HAIR! My hair has become so much stronger and healthier over the past year or so and I finally feel like I’ve found the right combination in terms of products, styling tools, techniques and of course the my stylist.

I do want to warn you, it is not a simple routine by any means. I love to use a lot of product and spend a lot of time on my hair, getting it to a good place and maintaining. I also think this goes without saying, I’m definitely a product junkie! You probably dont need every product or step that I do, but I’m sharing it all today!

THE ROUTINE:

Ok, so for my routine I’ll start by saying that I wash my hair twice a week almost always at night. The reason why I like to wash at night is because I have semi frizzy hair and I prefer to sleep on it to de-frizz a bit. I also sleep on a silk pillow which helps maintain frizz as well. You’ve probably heard that washing your hair every day can cause your hair to be very dry and too clean I guess you can say. Your hair needs time to build up its natural oils rather then strip them away. I also dont like to wash any more because its such a process, so 2x/week it is!

WASH

I LOVE this Alterna Caviar Shampoo and Conditioner (and sometimes rotate this one in as well). It’s hard to explain, but I love the way Alterna makes my hair feel. I’ve tried many combinations and this is my favorite so far. Since my hair is naturally brown and I have some blonde balayage going on, I like to wash with purple shampoo as needed. The purple shampoo makes the color more blonde and less brassy. LOVE Kevin Murphy product and this is my go-to purple shampoo and conditioner.

I also sometimes like to apply a mask in the shower if I have one at the time. This is one of my favorites. If I have a mask I use it sparingly, maybe every other week or so. Recently i have been REALLY into using Coconut Oil as a hair mask. Coconut oil is extra moisturizing and I absolutely love the way it makes my hair feel once I wash it out. I like to apply this one at night, wrap my hair in a bun then wash out in the morning. Tip: you will have to cover your pillow with a towel so it doesn’t get greasy.

STYLE

Once I get out of the shower, I let my hair air dry for the most part until its almost completely dry. I LOVE this incredibly expensive but incredibly good heat protectant spray. I always make sure to spray some sort of heat protector before I blow dry.

I then like to blow dry with this round dryer/brush from the drugstore. This is probably my favorite hair tool ever. I like to sweep through the top of my hair, then hold the curl on the ends. It gives such a beautiful blowout, while smoothing and slightly curling the ends which is the look I go for. It is just too easy with this tool! I also love this blow dryer, but have been dying to try this Dyson one! Has anyone tried it? This is the curling iron and this straightener I use occasionally when I feel like I need to style it a little more (although not often). You want to avoid using hot tools as much as possible.

I do like to smooth away my ends and flyaways with a very small amount of this oil. It is not too greasy and really hydrates the hair and creates a beautiful shine. I also love this one for the smell, but only use a very small amount on ends only.

EXTEND

Working out every day and not washing my hair seems a little crazy, but that’s what dry shampoo is for! I love this one, and this one has an amazing scent as well! Dry shampoo if your best friend if you’re exercising on the daily! A few of my favorite hairsprays and texturizing spray is linked below!

I la la love getting blowouts for special occasions and when I do I always go to Drybar. Nothing compares to getting your hair blown out. I am also obsessed with keratin treatments and have been to a few salons, but have yet to find one I love. If you have any recommendations for Keratin in SF please pass along!

Last but not least, a lot of you have asked who my stylist is, so here is Chandry’s website. She is the BEST! I 100% trust her with my hair and pretty much let her do anything she wants. I think we are keeping it long and balayage for awhile, I love it.

Thank you for all of your sweet comments about my hair- each and every one mean a lot to me, especially when its something that Ive been trying to improve for years now! Hope this posts helps you girls get the hair you’ve been wanting!

PS- I also wanted to share some exciting news. I am now a part of the LIKEtoKNOW.it fam. This means that if you download the LIKEtoKNOW.it app you can screensot or like my images on instagram and the looks will go straight to your inbox, LIKEto KNOW.it app or both! EYELET JUMPSUIT / UFORIA FITNESS STUDIO

Hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! We kept it local but managed to stay pretty active! We went on a hike with friends in the Marin Headlands, got our sweat on at the gym and also checked out a few new (to me) fitness studios.

On Saturday, Uforia Studios invited me to take a GRIT class. It was my first time to the studio (over on Polk street in San Francisco) and I’m so glad I checked it out! GRIT is their strength training classs which combines both cardio and conditioning. The difference between this class and any other studio I’ve been to is that they dont focus on reps, but focus on moving to the beat of the music. It makes it more fun, and I definitely moved much faster then normal. Each teacher has a different routine, but my class was a combination of cardio on and off a wood box, with some very quick reps with weights focusing on the full body. I was definitely sweating and very sore the next day, all signs of a great workout! It was challenging to me, and also nice to not focus so much on lifting heavy weights, but focusing on more reps and having fun with the music.

Uforia Studios also has a hip hop dance class (next on my list!) and a spin class classed Revolutions. Uforia is a combination of high energy, music driven fitness class with loud music and focus on moving with beat of the music. The classes are fun and affordable, I highly recommended you check them out if you are in the San Francisco area!

I was planning to run home from Uforia, but I decided that I was wayyyy to tired from my class! (Doesnt happen often, so you know if was a good one!) So instead of running, I walked and found a gem of a cycling studio on my way. Pelo Fitness caught my eye from the huge modern building and bright orange sign. I decided to stop in to check it out and met the owner Alan, who gave me a mini tour and talked to me about his goals for the studio. Pelo Fitness has been open in SF since the beginning of the year, and will be expanding into strength training and yoga classes within the next few months. I absolutely LOVED the vibe of the studio. It was super chic and modern, and the actual spin studio looks like a theater with one of the best sound systems I’ve heard. Pelo is about making connections with people, hanging out in the studio after class, and different from most cycling classes, you can see what level of effort you are putting into your ride depending on your fitness level. I’m going back for a class this week and cant wait!

Anyways, onto the fashion portion of this post! Today I’m sharing  this eyelet jumpsuit I’ve worn out quite a bit recently. I took it on a work trip to Mexico, and have also been wearing it out quite a bit around the city.  Jumpsuits are so effortless, and the eyelet design on this one is just gorgeous.

OUTFIT DETAILS: EYELET ROMPER / LEATHER JACKET (ON SALE) / HEELS (ALSO LOVE THESE) / BAG (SIMILAR HERE & HERE)

And few other jumpsuits that I’e had my eye one:

There are SOOOO many good options! I am snagging this one  and this one for a Palm Springs trip I have coming up. There are so many classic black options that I am in love with. This is the perfect black jumpsuit under $100 and this one for under $40! Also how fun is this red little number?!
