The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Activewear Roundup

Happy Saturday! I originally planned to share this post on Monday but I couldn’t wait any longer as some of my favorite items are getting scooped up quickly! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has begun and is finally open to the public (no Nordstrom credit card needed!) There are crazy amazing deals right now, so make sure to get em before they’re gone!

Here are some activewear finds that I found for you ladies!

favorite and love when they’re on sale!) // 5 (such a cute graphic print!)

 I am also loving these shoes. Have you guys tried the brand Zella? I am loving these capris, this ruched zip up jacket and this racer tank!

Why you need to eat more celery

Celery has not been at the top of my list of favorite veggies but after I read about the health benefits I quickly added it to my everyday meal prep. I am always on the hunt for healthy snacks especially something that I can throw in my purse and take to work with me. When I came across these Dandy® Celery snacks I was so excited to finally find something that I can snack on at work, in the car or literally anywhere.

We had a 4th of July party and popped the pre-cut celery out of the package and added them to our cheese plate! These snack packs include either peanut butter, ranch dressing or siracha dressing. (Peanut butter being my fave!)

Why you need to eat more celery:

  • Celery is great if you are watching your weight- 1 stalk is about 10 calories! I also love adding celery to my salads and soups in addition to eating raw with a dipping sauce.
  • It helps with stress relief. This was a new one for me! Celery contains magnesium and other minerals that soothe the nervous system. I’ve also read that it may help you sleep better if you eat celery at night.
  • Celery aids digestion due to the high water content and insoluble fiber.
  • Reduces inflammation– it is great for joint pain or asthma
  • Lowers blood pressure due to an active compound called phthalides in celery has been proven to boost circulatory health. Raw, whole celery reduces high blood pressure.
  • Cancer protection– Celery has multiple compounds in it that help fight multiple types of cancer. Phthalides found in celery, as well as polyacetylenes, detoxify cancer cells in the body, and help prevent cancer. (sources say)
  • It helps your eye sight and aid with vision loss. One large stalk of celery delivers 5 percent of your daily need for Vitamin A, a group of nutrients that protects the eyes.

Major Nike Sale Roundup

Happy Monday! There’s nothing like starting out the week with a little online shopping. Nike is having a major sale right now so  I’m sharing some of my favorites below! I’ve been eyeing a bunch of these items for awhile now and its time to pull the trigger now that they’re on sale. Hope this helps you find a few new options which will inspire you to hit the gym!

I posted this on my instagram the a few weeks ago and I absolutely love these sneaks!! They are great for a gym workout (not necessarily cardio) and perfect for everyday wear. ANNNDDD they’re on sale here!

Tennis Lesson with Play Your Court

Hello loves!! Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend! I’ve been telling myself for months now that I want to get out on the courts and start playing tennis and I finally did so. I was a bit rusty, but I found a really great site called Play Your Court who paired me up with a coach for a lesson.

Play Your Court takes tennis lessons out of the clubs and into the community by pairing clients with coaches in their area and fitting the lessons to their schedule and needs. Play Your Court is so convenient, super affordable and nationwide! They also just added a bunch of new coaches in San Francisco for all my locals.

I was quickly linked up with a pro who gave me options of what courts we could go to. We ended up using the courts a block away from my house and I was able to schedule a lesson within the week. It couldn’t have been easier.

My lesson was so much fun and such a great workout! I was definitely not expecting to sweat as much as I did. It felt amazing to get outside and I am looking forward to making it a routine. I will definitely be using Play Your Court again and again!

Running & Strength Training Workout with LUCY Activewear

Hello from the steep hills of San Francisco! This workout AND activewear post is in collab with Lucy Activewear! I look forward to my weekend runs down through Crissy Field to the Golden Gate Bridge and back which is mostly pretty flat, but this weekend I braved the hills. I’ve talked about HIIT (high intensity interval training) quite a bit, but I believe in it probably more so then any other form of exercise. It really burns the most amount of calories for me in far less time and is when I really start to shed my belly fat. Hello summer bikini season!

I tried something new today and incorporated bodyweight strength training with my run. You can try this on flat ground or make it more difficult by running up and down hills. This is another way to incorporate HIIT (short, intense bursts of activity paired with quick rests) into you workout. The strength training breaks up the cardio activity which gives your body a short rest.

For that summer body 😉 try this:

  • Run 1/4 mile
  • 20 Squats
  • Run 1/4 Mile
  • 20 Push ups
  • Run 1/4 Mile
  • 20 Dips
  • Run 1/4 Mile
  • 1 min Plank
  • Repeat 3x

Now for the clothes! I haven’t shopped at Lucy Activewear in a long time, but they have a ton of cute stuff right now. I love the fit and quality of their clothes. I also fell in love with my all time favorite sports bra which I will be repurchasing over and over. I’ve linked it below for you ladies!
