Weekend Recap & Recipes

Hope you lovelies had a great weekend! We had a blast watching the Patriots take the win on Sunday. 😉 I’m definitely a San Francisco fan, but my boyfriend and friends are New Englanders so had to root for Mr Brady! I found tons of great recipes from some foodie blogs, so decided to host a mini Superbowl party… with some healthier snacks of course!

What’s a football game without chips and guac?! I randomly mashed up a bunch of avocados, added diced onions, onion powder, sea salt, lemon and lime, then topped with tomatoes and cilantro. Guac is always a must and by far the easiest thing to prepare!

These healthier pizza bites were definitely a favorite and gone in about 10 seconds. I baked them with whole wheat tortillas, tomato sauce, cheese and turkey pepperonis. Recipe can be found here on the Dashing Dish blog. Only 66 calories each!

Another recipe I tried were these black bean and corn quesadillas. Sooo delicious! I think we scarfed them down before I got a photo, but the recipe can be found here.

Pretty Muddy Race Promo Code

Wanna get muddy?

I know I’ve been dying to do a mud race for quite some time now! Even more interesting, this one is an obstacle mud run / 5k!

pmsticker3

“Pretty Muddy was started by a couple of businessmen who were inspired by their wives – their pretty cool wives. Watching their partners juggle kids, households, carpools and careers – while still having time for the occasional ladies’ night – got the men thinking:

These awesome women deserve more time for themselves. Time for balance and time to be themselves without their families. Because even the greatest mom, businesswoman or grandma sometimes needs time that is just her own.

Like those pretty cool wives, today’s women are looking for a way to get together and focus on friendship, fun and fitness – without their significant others, their kids and the stress of the daily grind.

With the help of their wives and an incredible team of creative and motivated people, the two businessmen created an inaugural series of events called Pretty Muddy.

More than a mud run, it’s an exciting women-only event where you can let your hair down and have fun! And that’s pretty awesome.”

#TheMessyProject Anniversary Edition!

Hey everyone!! An amazing gf of mine has one of the top fashion blogs, Messy Dirty Hair, which I am SO proud of her for! She has taught me how to blog when I wasn’t pulling my hair out trying to figure it out on my own. It happens to be the 1 year Anniversary of the infamous #MessyProject which Kelly is known for.  Happy 1 year to The Messy Project!! Kelly asked me to participate this time around which am I am thrilled to be a part of!

If you’ve been following my blog since the beginning you may recognize this, but here’s what it’s all about: 1 item of clothing given to 5 girls. Then it’s up to them to style it their own. So with this particular project, Kelly chose this dress and it was up to us to have a little fun with it.

“One of the main reasons I love fashion is because you can make it your own. Everyone can have the same exact clothes but the way you style & wear it, is your choice. It gives you a chance to express your inner fashionista. A plain white tee can be looked at as boring & same ol’ same ol’ but think about all the different ways you can wear it. All the different accessories you can add to it. The layers of clothes you can put on it. So this plain white tee isn’t so plain anymore. You’ve made it your own.” -Kelly

So here we go, me trying to model and tying the knot. 😉 hehe

Dress: via Kelly / Boyfriend shirt: GAP / Shoes: Shoemint

Yes, I do get out of gym clothes once in a while. 😉 Pics compliments of my amazing boyfriend. Thanks Jeffer!

and another just for fun 😉

So now you have to check out the other amazing ladies who took part as well!!

Jessica of Jessica Who?
Thanks for reading!! And a big thanks to Kelly for letting me participate! xoxo
