ORAL-B GLIDE BRIDGE TO BRIDGE RUN + GIVEAWAY

It’s been awhile since I’ve ran an organized race and I’ve missed it so so much! I am so excited to share that I am partnering with Oral-B Glide Floss for the 42nd Annual Bridge to Bridge 12k and 5k here in San Francisco which is taking place on August 26th.

Named “America’s most beautiful run” by Sports Illustrated, the Bridge to Bridge Run is a longstanding tradition in the San Francisco.  Oral-B Glide Floss has been the title sponsor of the event for the past 10 years as they continue to inspire people to promote healthy habits- like flossing or participating in a local race!

The 5K/12K race and event expo will takes place on Sunday, August 26 at 8:00am. The race starts at the Bay Bridge, goes down the Embarcadero, through Fisherman’s Wharf and along Marina Green where the 5K finishes. The 12K continues through Crissy Field with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and finally back to Marina Green to finish. Food, drinks, and more will be provided at the after party. I’m so excited to participate in the 12k and get back into running these types of races. I love the running community in San Francisco and this is an iconic one I could not pass up!

Giant Race Recap

I finally uploaded our pics from the Giant Race from a few weekends ago. We had SO much fun, and if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram you may have noticed that Jeff ran with my mom and I for the very first time!! Let’s start by saying that he HATES running. He is not a fan of cardio, although he lifts with me on a daily basis. He has always sworn he will never run with me…until now. I don’t know what I convinced him, but I did. We were a little nervous for him, as he has not ran in over 10 years up until the day of the race. (Not recommended!) Believe it or not, he did awesome!! I stuck with him throughout and we finished with 9:30 pace. So proud!

Running with family and friends is the absolute best. If you have a family member that isn’t into running, start with a 5k. Make it a family affair. (I actually convinced my Dad to join us in our next 5k!!!)  Encourage your loved ones to get out there with you, its a great environment to be around like minded, active, happy people.

Water to Wine Half Marathon Recap

Finally posting some photos from the Water to Wine half marathon a few weeks ago! Better late than never right? Located in the beautiful wine country right outside of Healdsburg in Santa Rosa, we had so much fun at this race. Personally, I think its so much more fun to run with girlfriends. We chatted and encouraged each other the whole time, and the wine at the end was a major motivator to get to the finish line. I didn’t set a goal time, but we finished in 2:04. With another marathon in the books, I’m going to set a goal of 1:50 for my next half coming up in October. Time to train!!

My ladies! So much fun having girlfriends to run with, love you Luba and Athena!

Loved the medal. It was actually a wine stopper- pretty cool!

Shorts: Nike

Shoes: Asics GT 2000

Compression socks: CEP

Post race we decided to do a wine a food pairing at the winery (Kendall Jackson). The food and wine were both phenomenal! Not to mention, the winery is the perfect setting for a race.

Throwing my feet up after the race was much needed! Also swapped my asics for these Nikes. The most comfortable shoe ever.

Thanks to run wine country for putting on such a fun event! I would definitely recommend this race to those in the area.

Do you have a race coming up? Please do share!

I have a few other marathon articles and training guides: here, here , here, here and here. Happy reading!

Greeted at the finish line with these macaroons, thank you Jeff!

(Some photos taken by myself, others by Jeff and a few professional shots as well.)

The Paris Marathon was truly an unforgettable experience. Just being in this beautiful city alone was spectacular. We ran a slow 4 hour and 30 minute pace, which was perfect to actually take in our surroundings.  The course was flat, and the first half was pretty easy, but the last got difficult approaching mile 20 or so. I think you can see with my expressions that I was struggling a bit! But most importantly we made it, had SO much fun and would do it again in a heartbeat. Actually, day of the race I told myself this would be my last marathon, but as time has gone by I’ve had a change of heart and searching for another! Running is quite the addicting sport. The feeling of accomplishment easily replaces any negative thoughts. Going through the finish line and getting that medal was actually a little emotional. We did it! This was easily the best feeling in the world.

That day we went out to celebrate and once that post-marathon feeling of needing food and water went away we were ready to explore the city. Surprisingly walked out of it not sore at all!  It just so happened to be Luba’s 30th birthday which made the race that much more fun. Can’t wait to share more photos from the trip in an upcoming post. 🙂
