Hi friends! We are heading to Maui in May (sooo excited) and I’ve been on the hunt for swimsuits and other beach wear items lately. I found so many cute suits, but all upwards of $200+ which is crazy for me since I will most likely wear a swimsuit 1-2 times a year! So today I’m sharing a few items I’ve found for under $100.

I’ve found a lot of great suits on Amazon and I snagged both this and this one for just $20 a piece! I got this bikini in both blue and yellow. I’m debating this one as well, I love the lace up detail. Straw totes are a must, and this one is under $50. This cute cover up is so cute and white is a safe color that will go with each suit. I also snagged this and this one piece from Forever 21.

PALM SPRINGS RECAP PART 1

Helllllo lovelies! As many of you know, Jeff and I ventured to Palm Springs for my birthday a few weeks ago and today I am finally sharing a fun recap from our trip! I love going away for my birthday each year and this year all I asked was that we go somewhere where I can lay by a pool and just relax. No touristy things, just a pool, a cocktail and some tan lines. Jeff booked the trip a few months in advance and surprised me with a stay at La Quinta Resort which is in La Quinta, CA (about 30 mins away from Palm Springs).

We stayed for 5 days which was PERFECT. It was so nice to unplug (well, aside from social media), take a break from work and just spend time in the sun for more then just a weekend. It was HOT. And by hot I mean 120 degrees! But honestly wasnt so bad, as we were in the water or in AC most of the time.

La Quinta Resort is a BEAUTIFUL place!! I cant rave enough about every little detail of our stay. We didnt really want a “scene”, we wanted old historic Palm Springs and I loved everything about it. La Quinta was built in the 1920’s and has such incredible history. You can read more about it here. I was shocked to find out that La Quinta has 41 swimming pools, ,5 golf courses, a beautiful spa, tennis court, fitness center and gorgeous villas. And we definitely checked out each and every one of those things!

The grounds were incredible. The landscaping was perfect, I wanted to take a picture on every little inch of the property!

I loved the beautiful mission architecture. One of my favorite styles!

OUTFIT DETAILS ABOVE: VICI DOLLS ROMPER (SIMILAR) / MERONA HEELS / FREE PEOPLE BAG / LUCKY BRAND EARRINGS / KOMONO SUNGLASSES

I packed a bunch of fun summer looks. which I was REALLY looking forward to wearing due to our SF “Summer”. This little dress from Lovers + Friends is the cutest, I love the cutout detail and ease of throwing on a dress and heading out the door. I LIVED in this hat and these sandals. Straw totes were also a must, and picked up this one from Free People. I am obsessed with this round guy, and have used it so so much since I purchased. I saw this cute Vici Dolls romper a week before we left and knew I had to have it. The ruffles are darling and who doesn’t love a romper?! Vici Dolls tends to sell out fast, but they have a lot of restocks so you can have them email you when your size is back in stock.

On the second night we went to a wonderful dinner at Morgans (AMAZING steak dinner), and my best friend and her husband surprised me and stayed the weekend with us! Then the next day at the pool I had another wonderful surprise from my sweet friend who now lives in LA. Thank you my loves for making my birthday that much more special!

We had SUCH a blast hanging by the pool in our floaties, watching a movie by the pool, having a wonderful spa day….we had no reason to leave the resort. The food at each restaurant was incredible, there wasn’t one single meal that was a let down. The spa was gorgeous as expected and our treatments were nothing short of spectacular. I never wanted to leave the spa! It was the definition of relaxation. I also went to the fitness center a few times, as you all know fitness is a big part of my life and I even make it a part of my life on vacation. They had classes each day, and I took a TRX and kettlebell class which was so much fun.

So if you cant tell by now, I would highly recomend you head on over to Palm Springs (area) and stay at La Quinta Resort! If you are looking to relax, hang by the pool, play golf, relax at the spa, this is the place for you! (BTW this is not a sponsored post at all, I just loved it so much!)

I will post a part 2 of this recap next week! I have more outfits to share with you. along with a few more deets about this spot and where we went we ventured off the property. Have a great rest of the week! xo

MAJOR PALM SPRINGS STYLE EDIT

Hope you all are having a great week! Jeff surprised me with a trip to Palm Springs in a few weeks for my 30th birthday, so needless to say I’ve been shopping up a storm! I’ve only been to Palm Springs for work, so this will be my first time for vacation and I’m really looking forward to a little R&R by the pool. I’ve been dying for a relaxing long weekend in the sun, so it’s definitely my ideal way to celebrate my big 3.0.

Today I’m sharing some fun summer finds that I’ve been eyeing lately. I love planning my outfits for trips and find it so fun to shop for vacay!

WHITE MAXI DRESS / YELLOW GINGHAM DRESS / ORANGE SET / BLUE GINGHAM DRESS / STRIPED MAXI DRESS / WHITE ROMPER / BAMBOO CLUTCH / PINK BIKINI / WIDE BRIM HAT / WHITE OPEN BACK BODYSUIT / ROUND TOTE / CORK HEELS / CHAMBRAY OFF THE SHOULDER / WHITE BIKINI

It’s going to be pretty hot so I’m planning on bringing a lot of swimwear, flowy dresses and lightweight tops. I usually go for more neutral colors, but how fun is this striped dress? I’ve been eyeing this romper, this white maxi and this white bodysuit forever and I think its time to pull the trigger. Can you tell I’m having a thing for white right now? I LOVE this bamboo clutch, and use it often as you can see from my instagram. I also have this budget friendly wide brim which I love, as well as these cork heels. Definitely picking up this white bikini! I have never worn a high waist suit before, but I’m definitely going to hop on that bandwagon.

Ive also come across a TON of great swimwear finds. I’m really into the high waist swimwear trend as well as the one pieces! I never thought I would gravitate towards one pieces but I think they are so cute! I love all Marysia Swim but I’m also sharing a few budget friendly suits below. I ordered quite a few bikinis from SheIn (they are all around $15!!) which seems a little crazy, so I will keep you girls posted on quality.

SWIMWEAR

And a few other vacay worthy items in my shopping cart:

ACCESSORIES

DRESSES AND SETS

TOPS AND SHORTS

Hope this helps you girls going on vacation soon, or just need a fresh summer wardrobe. Happy shopping! xo

Fell of the wagon? So get back on track!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!! We had a fab time playing tourist in Napa and Sonoma this weekend. I’m from Sonoma, but we love getting out of the city on the weekends to visit. My main goal was to relax by the pool… success! We also did a little wine tasting…which led to us signing up for 2 more wine club memberships. (We couldn’t help ourselves). Did I eat clean? NO. Did I workout? Not really. Did I drink a lot of wine. YES. Was it worth it to take a break? Abso-freakin-lutely.

Going into the wine cave with my enormous water in hand…hehe

View from our room at the Meritage Resort & Spa. This place was AMAZING! Beautiful rooms, pool and wine caves! This place was a hidden gem, highly recommended!

Heaven=laying by the pool

Blurry iPhone shot of my main squeeze.  We ate din at Morimoto…THE best food ever. And no, I didn’t hold back. 😉

I know, I strayed away from my goals this weekend. I ate a lot of food I wouldn’t normally go for, I drank more wine than I should have, I didn’t really work out, I slept very little. And now guess what, I feel gross. I fell of the wagon and feel bloated, puffy, and gross. My point? Get back up and back on track stronger than before. Life gets in the way sometimes, and I am not letting myself feel bad about it. Instead, I am getting back on track today. Working out, drinking gallons of water and getting a good nights sleep. Keep going and leave your failures behind! I also think that taking a break from your normal routine is necessary. Sometimes you get so caught up in the same routine that it starts to feel so monotonous and unimportant. After taking a couple days off, I am ready to go at it 120%. I am feeling refreshed, energized and ready to killl my training today! Inching closer and closer to my goal physique…without letting little hiccups in the road get in the way. 🙂

“The only thing that stands between you and what you want in life is the will to try and the faith to believe that it’s possible.” -unknown

Look what was waiting at my door when I got home!! It must have been a sign. 🙂

Stress Less

Back to reality after a nice week long vacation. Vacation hangover is a good way to put it. We had the BEST time back east. Visiting with Jeff’s parents, exploring Boston a bit more than the last, then heading out to Cape Cod, and the most beautiful place in the world, Nantucket. Pictures to follow later this week. (I will spare you, but we took close to about 800!)

Not to mention, the food was absolutely amazing, so I am looking forward to getting back into the routine of a clean diet and daily exercise. I am so far behind on my marathon training as well, which can be a bit stressful and scary to think I will be running less than 5 weeks away! Training will start back tomorrow since birthday celebrations will be taking place tonight. Happy Birthday Mom!!

After being so relaxed, it has been quite disheveling getting back to work today. Below are 10 ways I find helpful to stress less.

1. Go for a walk or run

2. Talk it out

3. Breathe

4.Smile

5. Look for opportunities in life’s challenges

6. Reminisce about good times

7.Keep a journal, or jot down thoughts

8.Focus on what you can control

9.Go to bed earlier

10.Do yoga or any form of meditation

I hope this list helps you as it does myself. Thank you for reading and Happy Hump Day!

xo, Jenna
